Coastal History

Coastal Family Health Center was founded on the principle that health care should be accessible to all residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and that these health care services should be provided in an effective and efficient manner being responsive to the needs of the population. We have been a part of the Gulf Coast communities for more than 30 years serving the residents of three counties, Jackson, Harrison and Hancock.

1978: The Center was founded as outpatient medical and dental services through the Biloxi Clinic.
1981: Began offering after-hour coverage and inpatient care as well with the assignment of National
            Health Service Corps physicians.
1983: Offered Obstetrics and Gynecological services. Opened clinics in Saucier and North Gulfport.
1986: Expanded to Jackson County by establishing a clinic in Vancleave.
1987: Expanded to Hancock County by establishing a clinic in Bay St Louis.
2005: Rebuilt after Katrina with more than 20 temporary locations and mobile units to serve our communities.

Coastal Today:

Nine health centers across Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties, along with 2 mobile units, 2 school clinics and an upcoming Pediatric health center in Biloxi.
